Food – Pizza
Candy – Sour Patch Kids
Drink – Root beer [Dr. Pepper close second]
Color – Black
Honestly, if this one doesn’t sum me up already. I love the color black because it’s sleek, clean, and stealth. Part of my liking for black stems from my background in theater, where as stage crew or tech crew, we wear all black to be able to blend in backstage. Clad in black from head to toe, as crew we are all about blending into the background and helping make things run smoothly, while not drawing attention to ourselves. Basically my motto for life.
Season – Summer
This is an easy one for me. As an active extrovert, summer is the clear choice. It’s the time when I can hangout with my friends, when we can go to the beach, have bonfires, go camping, etc. Every other season feels like I’m just waiting for summer.
Animal – German Shepherd
I am very much a dog guy; I love them, and they love me. We get along really well. Probably because my personality is already that of a German Shepherd. Two of the words that best describe my personality are “Loyal and Protective” just like a well-trained German Shepherd.

Place – Locally: Holland State Park
This place will never get old to me. I enjoy Holland no matter what the season, no matter what the weather, no matter who I’m with. There is always something fun to do, there are always new people to meet, and new perspectives to photograph. Over the years I have spent countless hours here, and will continue to spend many more. The lakeshore basically counts as my second home.
Activity – Photography
Might seem like somewhat of a cop-out answer. Of course the photographer loves photography. But for me, this encompasses such a wide range of things; really just about anything. Because photography is such a lifestyle for me, I bring it into all the different realms of my life. If we’re rock climbing, then I’m climbing with my camera and taking photos from the top of the route; if we’re training parkour, then between jumps, I’m shooting photos of our athletes. The activity of photography helps to keep me moving, and doing something exciting, even when I or my friends don’t have the most motivation to go out in the rain or the cold.

Book – Deep Survival
Super cool story behind my introduction to this book: I acquired it while hiking in Maine on the Appalachian Trail. The secondary title is “Who Lives, Who Dies, and Why.” This is a great psychology book on trauma and survival, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Music Artist – Jon Bellion
I have so much respect for Jon Bellion because of his authenticity and also his faith. He, as a mainstream artist, makes a point in a number of his songs, on a number of his albums to talk about his faith. Even if it’s not well-known, even if it’s not blatantly obvious to your average listener, he still surgically inserts faith into the fabric of his music, and I think that is amazing. “Told myself I’m keeping my faith, If it costs me my reputation, then take it, I’ll give it all away” – Jon Bellion: New York Soul (Part II)
Movie(s)
– Baby Driver: Known for its incredible sound design, I also love the cast, characters, and story.
– Nerve: Lighting, colors, and soundtrack on point; as well as the augmented reality of phone and computer screens flowing well, and adding so much dimension. Plus the bit of real-world commentary on social media is great.
-Spiderman Into The Spiderverse: Honestly my favorite Spiderman movie to-date. I was blown away by this movie from the start. The animation pops, the characters are fun, the voice acting pulls you in, and the soundtrack is full of bangers.
-Zombieland: “Enjoy the little things.” If you know, you know. But seriously I love zombie movies, and this action comedy is hilarious, and classic.
-Inception: The concept of this movie is super intriguing. The unique concepts, the ability to create worlds, and the seemingly unnatural interaction between them made such a distinct, and unparalleled movie experience, that it has remained in my favorites for years.
-Deadpool: Ryan Reynolds is one of my favorite actors, and if you look back through his career, and even his life, and his social media presence, he has always embodied the humor, sarcasm, and style of Deadpool. Minus the foul language, my own humor tends to resemble that of Deadpool as well.
-Marvel MCU: I’ve loved watching the Marvel MCU movies from the very beginning, and my love for them has only grown through the years. The characters, worlds, themes, and the entire universe that Stan Lee created has not only withstood the test of time, but has evolved, grown, and taken on a new life. Marvel has given us some of the most iconic characters of our time, and I’ve really enjoyed watching these characters and actors as they push themselves, and add their own flare to really bring the MCU to another level in the world of cinema. RIP Stan Lee.
